Dear Matt
I would like to thank you for a great flute-making workshop. I had no previous experience of working with wood in such a way. 

You made it an easy and informative two days with great food as well.  To work with a square piece of wood and create my own music instrument was a get joy and with my lesson to get me started my lungs are getting stronger. 

With your gentle yet supportive way, you are able to bring out the strength that we all have within us to try new things. Listen & Learn for you are a great teacher.
I would encourage everyone to do this, girls give it a go - you will be surprised at what you can create!!!!

Connecting with your CD - Journey Over Mountain – the music allowed the joy of the child within to surface.  This is a great healing tool as I learn to play my flute I learn to take in more life force, as my breath increase.

I first purchased one of Matt's hand-crafted Native American Style Flutes at the Woodford Folk Festival. It is a stunning Honduran Mahogany low D flute. Matt, my/your flute has been played every now an then (high A) - was bought 3 years ago in a random moment in my tea break at the MBS festival in Brisbane.

I have been fascinated with this sound for years and have many CDs that have this instrument in the background. I have been uplifted by its sound - but to actually own one and playing it however amateurish I might be, has taken me to greater heights in my well being.
 
I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer last year and finished my chemo at the end of march this year. My music is one thing that I could not live without it makes my soul sing.
 
Thank you so much for your wonderful work, I know I was meant to find you and have this instrument with me as I recover further.
 
I will be passing on your great work as my friends and family will be shown what a wonderful feeling it brings.

You may not rememeber me.... I got a flute off you at the well being expo. Anyway hope your well, I’ve been playing the flute alot, Friends love it as do I. It is now a regular, and a fave at our jam sessions... My twin boys are also into it... They blow, and I move my fingers to get different sounds (boys are only 2 years) Anyway was just sitting down playing and looking at the beauty involved in its creation and thought I would find your email and let you know how its going.

My beautiful girl friend Mel, who was with me at the expo, has your cd at work for the kids to listen to at rest time. The other day I walked in to her work to find 23 pre school kids asleep on there mats listening to 'Journey Over Mountians'. Just thought you would enjoy the thought of your music settling the kids. I just want to say how much I am enjoying playing my new flute. I play some everyday and have gotten to love the sound of it. I hope that one day we could play together. I have had the good fortune to play at our singing group .... an intro into meditation...... and I really feel very confident on it more than I do on the silver flute which I usually read music to otherwise, I don’t have a lot of experience at improvisation but the NAF gives me this.
I also learnt the Lakota Courting song and am into learning  the Suni sunrise too. I understand the tabulature which I got from a book from the USA recently. Maybe one day in the future I will get a G flute too.

A week after meeting you and being captivated by the magic of your Native American Style flutes, I am still thinking about it and the wonderful place the music took me.
Having endured a crazy week at work, in an even busier city, that beautiful space seems like a dream away!
The meditative state I went into during your and Todd's playing was so deep and serene that I was reluctant to pull myself back and remember I was supposed to start singing again!  It was like an interruption!
And then I was blown away at how seemingly easily I took to your flute in F sharp, when we played around at the end, serenaded (supported!) by Todd.
It was very special to feel I could be a part of creating that beautiful ambience.
I've checked out your website and I feel that your commitment to your purpose, which allows the liberation and inspiration of so many others, is a very sincere credit to you.  You are living your truth and not many people have found the way or harnessed the courage to do that.

I so wish I could make it to Maroochydore but I will be working.
I have remembered about keeping the 4th hole from the bottom covered and have a couple of tunes I guess from my soul that I play whenever I get the chance.I’ve tried to just let it come as its ready and you are so right it is an unbelievably moving experience. As I told you when we spoke in my younger years I spent many years singing in bands and competitions and have always missed that. This year it was my goal to learn to read music and play guitar. But the flutehas captured my heart. It is beautiful to hear someone play but it is so much more than that to join with the flute and be a part of the sound and the vibration.VERY VERY VERY COOL!!! I also have a friend from my meditation circle who may contact you. He is an incredible soul and like us feels drawn to the flute.
