I have become an Australian agent for an NZ Kauri miller and supplier in New Zealand that reclaims ancient Swamp Kauri logs, mills and carefully drys the timber and slabs both naturally and via high-tec kiln drying methods. I have visited the mill and work closely with the owner to select and ship your Ancient Kauri Order anywhere in the world. The quality of this Kauri is second to none and the prices considering the resorce and it's old growth timber remain very fair. I have imported a large amount and keep sawn timber sizes and some slabs in stock, larger amounts must be imported to order and the minimum order is 1 cubic meter, shipping charges, customs papers, fumigation and cratage for the order are charged at face value cost. Pictures are supplied to you and descriptions of the various slabs that you can then hand pick for your order, once the order is all selected you will recieve a group photo of all that wood with your invoice, after direct deposit payment the order will be crated and shipped to your nearest docks where you must organise customs clearance agents to act on your behalf to clear the shipment, then organise the nescessary freight to your address. This Kauri is from the Dargaville area in the Northlands of th North Island it is dug out of the ground in careful, time consuming commercial opperations from private farmland property that is cleared, so no trees are removed to get to it and the ground is fully restored after extraction. This is not only the oldest workable timber available in the world but it is also the most environmentally sustainable and despite the energy used to extract, mill and transport it it's carbon and environmental footprint remains virtually nill. The thing that makes using this resorse so important besides the fact that it is extremely rare and ancient and old growth at that but it is saving us from cutting trees that are a better resourse in the ground providing habitat and oxygen for the planet. Here are pictures of one of the 3 warehouses where over 20,000 cubic meters is stored in timber sheds, for temprature stability, carefully curing.
